NAMTA FOUNDATION, INC.
The NAMTA Foundation was incorporated in 2005 as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. In June of 2005, the Foundation received a letter from the Internal Revenue Service, exempting the Foundation from federal income taxes and confirming that donations to the Foundation are wholly deductible under Section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC). In addition, the Foundation is qualified to receive tax-deductible bequests, devises, transfers and gifts under Sections 2055, 2106 and/or 2522 of the IRC.
The Foundation’s Mission statement is: “To recognize, promote and support initiatives that foster the creative and visual arts, by creating a sustaining fund through an annual campaign for contributions, planned giving, endowments, benevolences, grants and other sources to use in financially supporting worthy projects in the visual arts by artists, art educators or other individuals, institutions or organizations, such as specific works of art, art educational courses, programs or curricula, as well as grants to art institutions, organizations, galleries or individual artists; conducting and funding research to identify, quantify and/or define the economic and/or social impact of the visual fine arts; funding scholarships for deserving students to enable them to further or pursue a career in the visual fine arts; to be able to provide funding in crisis situations where art, artists or art related enterprises are threatened by natural or manmade damage or destruction; and other worthy projects that may arise from time to time.”
In keeping with its mission, the Foundation provides annual scholarships for students pursuing art-related courses of study; disaster relief grants to aid those individuals, art-related businesses and organizations who are devastated by natural or manmade disasters; grants to individuals and organizations to provide art projects within local communities; and coordination of art projects for children and senior citizens.
